Here’s What You Missed at the 2025 State of the Institute Address

Every year, Exit Planning Institute^® (EPI) President Scott Snider hosts a virtual broadcast called the State of the Institute in which he explains EPI’s vision for the future. 2025 marks a very special occasion for EPI, as it celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, signifying two decades of the exit planning profession and two decades of building a strong community of advisors.

Keep Moving Forward 

For EPI, 2025 is a year of action and growth. Various initiatives launched have already demonstrated this push forward, including Beyond CEPA and DriveValue.com. DriveValue will officially have its launch party in March 2025, while Beyond CEPA is being rolled out to our graduated Certified Exit Planning Advisors (CEPA^®) now.  

• Beyond CEPA—This playbook offers CEPAs guidance on the next step of their professional journey. Whether that is implementing exit planning, integrating the Value Acceleration Methodology™ into your practice, or becoming an exit planning expert, Beyond CEPA will help you get there.  

• DriveValue—DriveValue.com, an educational platform, helps business owners and leaders explore the Value Acceleration Methodology through online and in-person resources. Designed for privately held businesses ($1M—$150M revenue), their executive teams, and family members, the platform connects them with Certified Exit Planning Advisors (CEPA). Through courses, programs, and events, DriveValue.com equips owners and key leaders with the tools to increase business value, grow wealth (5-10x), and align personal, financial, and business goals. 

Other notable events and initiatives this year that Scott highlighted in the broadcast include new EPI chapter launches, two new regional State of Owner Readiness Surveys™, two new Mastering the Market collections, and our inaugural Annual Exit magazine.  

As EPI continues to grow, finding space to grow is vitally important. In an exciting announcement, Scott revealed that EPI will move to its brand-new global headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. This new space, optimized for EPI’s growing team, will help us better serve our advisory community, foster stronger relationships with business owners, and expand exit planning knowledge around the nation. 

The Future of Exit Planning 

Vital to EPI’s continuing journey forward is our vision for the future, which Scott shared during the broadcast. This includes continued growth of the company, continued growth of the CEPA credential, and expanded awareness of exit planning and the Value Acceleration Methodology. With that in mind, Scott shared that EPI aims to have CEPA as the third largest credential with a CEPA on board among every advisor group in every company.  

Another key step on this journey is the continued hosting of the annual Exit Planning Summit. This event is the premier education and networking opportunity for advisors looking to strengthen their exit planning strategy and become more adept at connecting with business owners.
