Embracing Growth at the Exit Planning Institute
by Maggie Hughes on April 24, 2024
The Exit Planning Institute (EPI) is thrilled to introduce two new additions to our team, Sam Fisher and Drew English. As our organization continues to expand its reach and offerings, Sam and Drew bring invaluable skills and passion that align with our mission of empowering advisors in the exit planning community.
Meet Drew English: Fulfillment Manager
Drew’s journey back to EPI is a testament to the enduring bonds of friendship and a shared commitment to excellence. Having been part of the EPI team from 2016 to 2020, Drew ventured into new opportunities before realizing that his true passion lay within the dynamic environment of EPI. “I stayed close with Scott over the years and in a conversation with him, he slid over this job description” Drew says. His deep-seated belief in the importance of education led him back to our organization. He wants to cultivate a better experience for our customers.
Drew’s role as Fulfillment Manager is defined by his dedication to understanding every facet of our products and services. He is focused on enhancing the overall experience for our members. Drew is excited to leverage his experience and insights to cultivate a better experience for our members. His return to EPI signifies not only a professional homecoming but also a renewed commitment to driving excellence and innovation within our organization.
Meet Sam Fisher: Marketing Manager
Sam joins us with a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for marketing. Her journey to EPI has been marked by a commitment to professional growth and a desire for more meaningful work-life integration. Having previously worked in nonprofit event fundraising, Sam’s life took a significant turn when she became a mother in 2021. This pivotal moment prompted her to seek out opportunities that offered both professional fulfillment and the flexibility to prioritize her family.
Reflecting on her decision to join EPI, Sam shared that she was at a point in her career where she wanted something more leadership focused, yet still within the realm of marketing. “I wanted something in a company that prioritized work life balance but still allowed me to be a mom” Sam remarked. EPI’s commitment to work-life balance and its open, supportive culture immediately resonated with her. Sam believes in the power of strategic marketing to drive impact. She also believes in having fun. These beliefs drive her dedication in her role as Marketing Manager.
Shared Values and Vision
Both Sam and Drew align with EPI’s core values, particularly the value of “Putting It on the Table.” For Drew, this value underscores the importance of open and honest communication within teams, fostering an environment where constructive feedback and collaboration thrive. “In order to have a collaborative team, you have to be able to talk about the positives and negatives” says Drew. Sam, although naturally reserved, appreciates the culture of openness at EPI stating “The environment is so open here that it takes the fear out of the question”. She believes this value is instrumental in her growth as a manager and in fostering meaningful connections with our community of Certified Exit Planning Advisors (CEPAs).
Fun Facts
In addition to their professional accomplishments, Sam and Drew bring unique interests and hobbies to our team. Sam is an avid fan of Pitbull and Taylor Swift, with a passion for raunchy reality TV and a newfound interest in golf. Drew, on the other hand, boasts a background in beach soccer, having played on a nationally ranked team. He has also seen Hootie & the Blowfish 10 times!
Onboarding Highlights
The standout moment of Drew and Sam’s onboarding experience has been the opportunity to embark on this journey together. Drew and Sam, recognizing the value of their shared expertise and camaraderie from their previous company, quickly found that their ability to collaborate seamlessly translated into their new roles, strengthening both their work dynamic and their friendship.
As they integrate further into our team, Sam and Drew are most excited about the potential for growth and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our organization. With their combined expertise and unwavering dedication, we are confident that they will play integral roles in shaping the future of EPI.
Looking Ahead
As Sam and Drew integrate into our team, they are eager to make a lasting impact in their respective roles. Sam is focused on refining the strategies and success metrics for our marketing efforts, while Drew is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience and driving innovation within our products and services.
Together, Sam and Drew bring a blend of experience, enthusiasm and a shared commitment to excellence that will elevate our organization to new heights. As we welcome them to the EPI family, we look forward to the contributions they will make and the collaborative journey ahead.
