The Exit Planning Institute and a collaborative team of top advisors and leaders from the Fort Lauderdale marketplace are joining forces to launch the Exit Planning Institute Fort Lauderdale Chapter on February 21, 2023, hosted at The Tower Club Fort Lauderdale, 100 SE 3rd Avenue, One Financial Plaza, 28th Floor, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33394.
This local chapter differs from many other networking professional organizations in the market. The EPI Chapter is cross-functional, meaning it attracts and engages advisors, experts, thought leaders, media, and business owners from diverse backgrounds. These leaders engage in exit planning and value acceleration education that ensures the continuity of the local marketplace and improves the success rates for transitioning businesses as owners look toward their future.
As evident in the vast amount of recent research studies, including the State of Owner Readiness™ Survey, the U.S. landscape is set to transition six million businesses over the next 5-10 years. Baby boomer business owners are reaching retirement at a rapid rate, and these same owners own 66% of all companies in the United States of America. According to recent research conducted by EPI, most baby boomer owners have not accounted for their ultimate exit transition. Statistics show that only two out of ten businesses on the market sell. Without proper planning, owners run the risk of getting a lower price for their business than they need, or even worse, they fail to sell at all.
Michael DeSiato, President of the EPI Fort Lauderdale Chapter shares, “For most business owners exiting their businesses is the most significant financial event of their lives. On top of this is the fact that many will only get one chance to get it right. Our chapter is dedicated to making this one shot their best.”
He continues, “Our chapter believes that every business owner deserves a successful exit which takes a great advisory team. A successful exit does not just happen. It takes a conscious commitment to planning and execution well before the exit event. To this end, we will be the catalyst for starting the exit planning process by educating, advising, and supporting business owners and their trusted advisors to implement best practices to maximize the value of their businesses so that they can achieve financial security and move on to the next chapter in their lives.”
Attend the EPI Fort Lauderdale Chapter Launch event on February 21 to hear from EPI CEO, Chris Snider and Michael DeSiato, President of the EPI Fort Lauderdale Chapter.
Chris will lead the session in a discussion about the various roles an advisor plays in the exit planning ecosystem. He will also introduce the Fort Lauderdale Chapter to the Value Acceleration Methodology.
Exit planning is the fastest-growing marketplace within the financial and professional services industry. The exit of millions of baby boomer business owners is over $10 trillion dollars in transferable wealth. This is your “$10 Trillion Dollar Opportunity!”
That said, the business community is changing, and like it or not, the need for a new kind of advisor has become undeniable. You can no longer view your relationships with your clients and prospects as transactional. You must become more than your deliverable.
In 2022 and beyond, you must do more than assess value. You must provide value. In this session, you will learn how to help change the outcome for business owners. You will identify, protect, build, harvest, and manage business wealth.

The EPI Chapter Network creates a forum where the local community of professional advisors can collaborate and address the unique needs of their community. Chapters develop educational programs for business owners and professional advisors that build awareness and better prepare an owner for the successful exit of their business. The purpose of the EPI Chapter Network is to create, encourage, and foster the adoption of best practices in the exit planning profession. Chapters promote the common interests of business advisors engaged in exit planning.
The EPI Fort Lauderdale Chapter will host monthly meetings and encourages your ongoing participation. Learn more at www.EPIFortLauderdale.com.
