Top 5 Things to Explore in Scottsdale During the 2023 Exit Planning Summit

The 2023 Exit Planning Summit is only a few weeks away! Exit Planning Institute is thrilled to be heading back to Scottsdale, Arizona again for three days of immersive exit planning education.

We put together some recommended spots in Scottsdale to explore during this year’s Summit!

Hike Camelback Mountain

The beautiful Phoenician Resort is at the base of Camelback Mountain. Camelback is one of the most popular attractions for hikers visiting Arizona. There are two trails that ascend to the summit of the mountain, offering 360-degree views of the city below. These hikes are not for beginners, so if you are interested in viewing the mountain from below, we recommend you pull up a chair at one of the Phoenician pools and sit back and relax with the mountain behind you or enjoy the mountain views from the Phoenician Golf Course!

Visit Old Town Scottsdale

Old Town Scottsdale is a collection of nine neighborhoods with shops, restaurants, art galleries and installations, and historic sites from the 1880s. This walkable area has a great mix of old-west and contemporary styles. We recommend visiting two classics in Old Town Scottsdale: The Sugar Bowl, which has been serving ice cream and diner classics since 1958, and The Rusty Spur, a registered historic landmark and Scottsdale’s oldest cowboy saloon!

Explore Art Installations and The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art

Located in Old Town Scottsdale, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art has rotating exhibitions of contemporary art, design, and architecture. Spend the day walking through the exhibitions in the museum as well as the many temporary and permanent public art installations in the city.

Take in the Sites at Papago Park

A quick drive from the Phoenician Resort, Papago Park is home to the Desert Botanical Garden, The Phoenix Zoo, Papago Golf Course, the Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting, and a variety of trails and hikes! While in the park, we recommend walking the Hole-In-The-Rock trail on the east side of the park.

Watch Ballet Arizona Perform at the Desert Botanical Garden

The Desert Botanical Garden boasts numerous trails, local plant life, and stunning views of the surrounding Arizona landscape. Located in Papago Park, the Botanical Garden is a breathtaking way to spend an afternoon. During the sunset, Ballet Arizona performs with the incredible Garden as a backdrop. Watch “The Rite of Spring” under the Arizona sun.
