5 Reasons the Exit Planning Summit is the Smartest Investment You'll Make in 2026
by Rob DiFranco on November 18, 2025

Take your exit planning expertise to a new level by attending the 2026 Exit Planning Summit, where education meets opportunity, and every session is designed to make an impact. Sharpen your skills, broaden your professional network, and get meaningful returns on your professional investment by making the trip to Nashville next April 19-21.
Explore the top five reasons why the Exit Planning Summit will be the smartest investment you’ll make heading into 2026.
1. Stay Ahead of the Game
Take advantage of our new session formats at the 2026 Summit while earning continuing education (CE) credits to keep your Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) credential current.
In 2026, as the Exit Planning Summit makes its Nashville debut, we’re introducing three new session types designed to enhance your experience and help you learn. Join some of the leading minds in the exit planning space for breakout-style sessions, including up-close looks at case studies, panel discussions, and lectures that address hot topics such as building referral networks, navigating family dynamics during an exit, and more.
You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from Exit Planning Institute® (EPI) President Scott Snider and other exit planning industry experts, including Jerome Myers, Susan Latremoille, Cara Gray, and Marianne Oehser, in the main stage session on April 21, as they share real-world stories and approaches that help build out the personal leg of the stool.
2. Hands-on Learning
EPI will also introduce new workshops, offered separately from Summit registration, to give CEPAs actionable strategies, templates, and processes they can implement with their clients right away. These workshops deliver tangible takeaways that justify your investment and pay dividends long after you return home.
Returning to the Exit Planning Summit are attendee-favorite workshops like the Mastering the Triggering Event workshop, led by EPI CEO Christopher Snider, and the Advanced Tax Planning Workshop with 2023 Peter Christman Exit Planner of the Year Joe Strazzeri.
We are also offering several new workshops, including:
- SHINE: How to Maximize Your Impact and Inner Peace: This workshop, led by Philip Pfeifer, certified EOS implementer with EOS Worldwide, combines teaching, reflection, and interactive exercises to motivate participants to shed fear, ego, and low-value work.
- From CEPA to Specialist: How Financial Advisors Win with Business Owners: This workshop is exclusively for financial advisors with limited seats available. Led by Casey Clark, CEO of Cultivate Advisors, CEPA attendees will leave with insights into how they can deepen their relationships with business owners and become their most trusted and valued advisor.
3. Keynote Speakers with Real-World Insights
With a spotlight on the personal leg of the stool at the 2026 Exit Planning Summit, we have selected a pair of keynote speakers who will give you a leg up in building culture, social capital, and the personal leg of the exit planning stool.
Join Ben Utecht, author of The Champions Creed, former NFL tight end, Super Bowl Champion, and Chief Culture Officer of True North Private Equity, as he helps CEPAs create a community creed in the opening keynote on April 20. To close out the 2026 Exit Planning Summit, Tommy Breedlove, author of Legendary, will provide attendees with real-world strategies to help build deep relationships with their business-owner clients.
To learn more about Tommy and Ben, check out our blog introducing them, and the main stage session featuring Scott Snider and a panel of fellow exit planning experts.
4. Unmatched Networking
On top of the knowledge you will get from our highlighted speakers, there’s plenty more to gain from connecting with your exit planning peers. EPI has you covered with several organized networking events designed to give you the time and space to have meaningful conversations with other exit planners from around the globe.
Whether it’s at the Welcome Social, our Sunrise Table Talks, or during Summit Exploration Time, networking with other attendees at the 2026 Exit Planning Summit can help you land new referral sources, business collaborations, and partnerships.
While in Nashville, you will also have the opportunity to meet with our Exit Planning Summit sponsors, REAG, Capitaliz, Strazzeri Mancini, Ella, Madison Insurance Group, RBC Wealth Management, and more.
5. A Learning Retreat
After making a pit stop in Charlotte Harbor, Florida, for the 2025 event, the Exit Planning Summit is headed to the Music City in 2026. Nashville and the prestigious Gaylord Opryland Resort provide the perfect background for learning, collaboration, and sharing new ideas with your exit planning peers.
You’ll also have time to explore the Gaylord Opryland or make the short trip to downtown Nashville, where you can visit popular tourist destinations like the Broadway district or the Country Music Hall of Fame. No matter what you do with your downtime at the 2026 Exit Planning Summit, you’ll leave refreshed and ready to drive stronger results for your advisory practice.
