The Exit Planning Institute and SWBC Investment Services Present The 2019 Summit Giveback
by Member Experience on September 20, 2019
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Sept. 20, 2019 — The Exit Planning Institute is coming to San Antonio and with it comes the annual Summit Giveback. Presented in partnership with SWBC Investment Services, the Summit Giveback will take place on Monday, Sept. 23 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on the rooftop of the St. Anthony Hotel. This year, the proceeds will benefit WISH for OUR HEROES (W4OH), a national charity that assists military families of all branches struggling with basic needs.
Through a silent auction style event, attendees are able to enjoy an evening of networking with best-in-class professionals from all over the nation, be inspired by the directors and local leaders of W4OH, and bid on an array of items. The items range from Exit Planning Institute focused packages, including a CEPA commemorative swag bag and a Signature set, to a trip to Las Vegas where you will attend the George Straight concert, Michael Jordan Autographed Air Jordan 1, and a guitar autographed by multiple country music stars.
Each year, Exit Planning Institute collaborates with local leaders in the host city to identify a local charity or cause that can be positively impacted by our opening networking social (coined the “Summit Giveback”), which raises funds. Over the past three years, the EPI community has collectively raised over $40,000 for local chapters of organizations like the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, the Human Fund, Abe’s Garden, and Alzheimer’s Foundation. The 2019 Summit Giveback will support WISH for OUR HEROES.
“It’s a privilege to be involved in the Summit Giveback. Every dollar raised as part of the Giveback will assist local military families struggling with basic needs. The incredible people involved with the Giveback have assisted many charities over the years and we are honored to be part of this year’s event. In addition to donations, this event will assist in spreading the word about our organization, and the great things that our heroes do every day,” said Jeff Wells, President and Founder of WISH for OUR HEROES.
Through the granting of ‘wishes’, the 2019 nonprofit, WISH for OUR HEROES, strives to assist military families with food, shelter, transportation, child needs, medical expenses, and other basic necessities not covered through traditional military and nonprofit channels. W4OH is run by volunteers who have dedicated their lives to assisting our heroes. As a result, W4OH has operated at less than 10% administrative expense ratio since inception. To date, W4OH has provided assistance to more than 35,000 military families, across 49 states, and 4 nations. The San Antonio, Texas chapter is the organization’s largest—having assisted more than 8,000 military families in the Central Texas region over the past nine years.
The 2019 Summit Giveback is presented in collaboration with SWBC Investment Services. “This event and our sponsorship of the silent auction means so much to SWBC. We enjoy supporting many local organizations and this relationship with WISH for OUR HEROES is important to us. The many needs of military families sometimes go unnoticed and this organization stands in the gap to make a difference,” said Thomas Jordan, EPI San Antonio chapter President and Executive Benefits and Business Planning Advisor at SWBC Investment Services.
If you are local to the San Antonio area and would like to attend the 2019 Summit Giveback, register now. All proceeds from registration go directly to W4OH.

“This Methodology is Going to Supercharge My Practice!” -Justin Goodbread, CEPA, CFP®
Official ‘Exit Planning’ Definition: Exit planning combines the plan, concept, effort, and process into a clear, simple strategy to build a business that is transferable through strong human, structural, customer, and social capital. The future of the business owner, his/her family, and the business itself are addressed by exit planning through creating value today.
Exit planning is not just a plan (or a keyed-in report to print out for an owner). It is a strategy rooted in execution that grows value while expanding options so that an owner can transition the business on his/her terms when they are ready. It aligns the business, personal, and financial needs of the owner. Good exit planning utilizes the Value Acceleration Methodology™ to move clients through discovery, prepare, and decide gates. Certified Exit Planning Advisors (CEPA) educate the owner on all of the exit options and enters an engagement with an exit-option-agnostic perspective as to truly serve the business owner’s diverse needs. CEPAs collaborate with a seasoned, multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support the success of the business owner and use each other’s specialties and expertise to the benefit of the project.
