# How Leaders Make or Break a Business

Serving in a leadership position does not make someone a leader. According to [Infopro Learning](https://www.infoprolearning.com/infographic/13-shocking-leadership-development-statistics-infopro-learning/), only 18% of organizations say their leaders are “very effective” at meeting business goals and only 19% of organizations say they are “very effective” at developing leaders. Additionally, while [83% of employers](https://goremotely.net/blog/leadership-statistics/) state it is crucial to develop leaders across all levels of the organization, only 5% of corporations actually implement these improvements.

At EPI, we believe in providing each member of our team with professional development opportunities to further their careers. That is where Transformational Leadership Training comes into play.

The EPI Team recently completed Transformational Leadership Training with Dr. Fred Johnson through [InitiativeOne](https://www.initiativeone.com/). Each member of our team participated in this training, from our newest hires to our executive team. As a result of this training, we have updated our Core Values to reflect our collaborative ideals.

Transformational leadership is an inside-out process that rarely, if ever, happens in isolation. It is a team sport and it will never happen if you are afraid of being uncomfortable in the presence of other leaders. Transformational leadership requires the courage to engage with other team members who will journey with you and practice giving and receiving honest feedback in real-time.

Transformational leaders know how to shape impactful teams and leaders who make decisions and solve problems more effectively. The decision to invest wisely will take you on a journey beyond skills and processes. You must explore leadership at a deeper level. It begins with the values and beliefs within your people and yourself.
