Book Review: The Ultimate Sale: A Financially Simple Guide to Selling a Business for Maximum Profit
by Paige Wysocki on August 11, 2020
The Ultimate Sale (in 100 words or less)
This book is a guide to creating an exit plan and increasing the value of your business now, so when it is time for you to retire you will be able to on your terms. This was a pretty lengthy read, as it took about four days of reading for about six hours.
The Language Barrier Between Owners and Advisors
This book help solves the language barrier between owners and their advisors when it comes to exit planning. Whether you want to exit your business now, in 10 years, or plan to never exit, planning for the future is crucial to the success of your business. Fewer than 20% of owners who want to sell their businesses will be able to and this book will help owners overcome the statistics and achieve their business and personal goals.
Never Forget the Goal
From my point of view, this book helped me understand the importance of starting with the end in mind for everything that I do. The deeper message that I took away does not just apply to starting, growing, and selling a business. For everything that you do in life, start with the end in mind and never forget your goal throughout the entire journey.
Exit is Now
From Chris and Scott’s point of view, this book aligns with the statement that exit planning is simply good business strategy. Not all owners make decisions for their business with the end in mind, but they will have to exit eventually. From the perspective of an owner, this book can be applied to their day-to-day operations and implemented into their strategy to grow the value of their business.
