Transitioning Your Life: How Proper Planning Impacts Your Life
Join the EPI Conejo Valley Chapter on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM PT for an in-person Chapter Event. During this event, a panel will discuss various wealth management issues (taxes, cashflow planning, legacy, risk, capital markets, intergenerational planning) that affect business owners as they transition from active ownership to stewarding family wealth.

Meet the Panelists
Dennis Clapp
Dennis Clapp is an Executive Director with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Los Angeles. He specializes in working with institutions and high-net-worth families to build and preserve assets by leveraging J.P. Morgan’s global platform. Dennis has over 15 years of experience, having previously served as a Sr. Vice President with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Wealth Management, and as Vice President with Wells Fargo Private Bank.
Board memberships have included: ACG101, Woodland Hills Tax & Estate Planning Council, Toastmasters Club #2847612, and Exit Planning Institute (Conejo Valley Chapter). Dennis earned his MBA in Finance and BA in Marketing, both from Loyola Marymount University. He completed his Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University and holds the CFP™ designation.
Dennis is an avid offshore sailor, skier/snowboarder, and scuba diver.
Elizabeth Anderson
Liz is a Vice President with Whittier Trust Company, the oldest and largest multi-family office headquartered on the West Coast. Liz’s primary focus is developing new relationships. She is passionate about assisting business owners with succession planning and pre-liquidity personal planning. Based in the firm’s South Pasadena office, Liz oversees several relationships throughout Southern California. She spends much of her time working in Santa Barbara, Montecito, and Ventura, as well as Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.
Liz is responsible for various marketing and business development strategies throughout the company, working closely with Client Advisors and Portfolio Managers in all offices. Her strengths are solving complex financial and family dynamics issues for clients who seek to optimize their quality of life and the lives of those important to them.
Before joining Whittier Trust in 2014, Liz spent more than a decade directing marketing with a business law firm in Downtown Los Angeles, improving brand awareness and expanding the firm’s client base. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of California, Berkeley, has a Certificate in Financial Planning from Pepperdine’s Graziadio School, and is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor.
A native of Los Angeles, she is active in many organizations throughout Southern California, including Association for Corporate Growth, the Pacific Council on International Policy, the Lobero Theatre Ghostlight Society, and Exit Planning Institute.
Robert C. Kulle Jr.
Robert grew up in Endicott, New York, and was drafted out of college by the Cleveland Indians. Following his professional baseball career Robert went to graduate school where he became certified to teach mathematics in grades 7-12. In 1998, Robert decided to leave his teaching position in Syracuse, New York, and move to Dallas, TX where he pursued an opportunity in financial services. After meeting his wife Stephanie they moved to California in 2004 where he founded Heritage Capital Strategies, Inc. (HCS).
HCS specializes in life insurance solutions for business owners, affluent families, executives, and family offices. Robert has taken his experience as a former professional baseball player, and high-school math teacher, to differentiate HCS in the life insurance marketplace. He built HCS to utilize his mathematical and educational background to help clients and their professional advisors identify the best life insurance products and funding options for their planning objectives.
Robert, Stephanie, and their two children reside in Newbury Park, CA. They support their community through various schools, sports, and philanthropic endeavors. As a former professional athlete, Robert loves youth sports and volunteers to coach softball, baseball, and basketball. The family are active members of Sherwood Country Club in Westlake Village.
Joe Seetoo
For over 23 years, Joe has acted as a wealth advisor to business owners and high-net-worth families, providing financial planning and wealth management services to help them Get the Most Life Out of Their Wealth®. On his exit planning podcast, The Ripcord Moment, he showcases the owners and their team of trusted advisors, who have navigated challenges, structured successful deals, and ultimately achieved their perfect landing.
Over the past two years, Joe has been instrumental in developing a unique offering for Morton Wealth that helps business owners and entrepreneurs make smart decisions as they build wealth and financially prepares those who are looking to transition or sell their businesses in the coming years. By working with business owners, Joe aims to bring resources and planning expertise to help integrate their personal, financial, and business aspirations.
Joe has been named one of the 200 most influential leaders in the Greater San Fernando Valley Region by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal for three consecutive years. He is also the recipient of the Trailblazer Award by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts. Additionally, he is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor, and a member of ProVisors, and the EPI Thought Leadership Council. He currently serves as Founder and President of the Conejo Valley chapter of the Exit Planning Institute, which serves to create a forum where advisors can collaborate to better prepare owners for the successful exit of their business.
Joe is involved in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, and enjoys playing guitar, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, reading, and spending time with family.
The EPI Chapter Network
The EPI Chapter Network creates a forum where the local community of professional advisors can collaborate and address the unique needs of their community. Chapters develop educational programs for business owners and professional advisors. These build awareness and better prepare an owner for the successful exit of their business. The purpose of the EPI Chapter Network is to create, encourage, and foster the adoption of best practices in the exit planning profession. Chapters promote the common interests of business advisors engaged in exit planning.
EPI Chapters are cross-functional, meaning they attract and engage advisors, experts, thought leaders, media, and business owners from diverse backgrounds. These leaders engage in exit planning and value acceleration education that ensures the continuity of the local marketplace and improves the success rates for transitioning businesses as owners look toward their future.
