The 2023 Exit Planning Summit begins this Sunday, May 21! To ensure you make the most out of your Summit experience this year, we thought we would give you an overview of the content, resources, and networking opportunities you’ll enjoy in Scottsdale next week!
Sunday, May 21
The Summit kicks off with the return of the highly rated Learning Lab sessions. After you check in at the registration desk to collect your Summit Program Workbook and name tag, attend sessions by 14 of our trusted industry partners! These sessions will provide attendees with a wide range of exit planning content and the opportunity to connect with possible referral sources or provide potential tools and resources. After the Learning Labs, we will close day one of the Summit at the Welcome Social brought to us by our Bronze Partner, UBS Financial Services, Inc.
Monday, May 22
Day two of the Summit includes a State of the Institute Address from Scott Snider, a Keynote session from the Co-Founder of Netflix, Marc Randolph, and 12 breakout sessions from industry professionals! These breakout sessions offer attendees the opportunity to learn introductory education about exit planning topics, learn key business development strategies, and gain a mastery level of understanding of value growth and exit planning.
On Monday afternoon, Christopher Snider, CEO of EPI, highlights the evolution of exit planning over the past 25 years and where the exit planning profession is moving into the future. As the Value Acceleration Methodology turns 10 years old, Chris will share the changes in approach, the advancements in process and thinking, the opportunities advisors have to help owners create more significant companies, the latest industry statistics and business owner trends, and give us a vision into the future of the exit planning profession and process.
We have built in plenty of time for networking throughout the Summit. During our extended breaks, explore the Exhibit Hall to meet with more than 30 of our trusted industry partners. In addition to our expanded Exhibit Hall this year, we are also welcoming 19 authors to our Second Annual Author Showcase during lunch. During this time, Summit attendees can meet with the authors of some of the EPI team’s favorite exit planning and business strategy books and build their business library!
We close the second day of sessions by presenting our 2023 Excellence in Exit Planning Awards to three incredibly worthy CEPAs. After the ceremony, Our Silver Partners, Strazzeri Mancini LLP and The Founders Group present the Charity Giveback Social. This year during both a silent and live auction, we will be raising money for the Phoenix Children’s Foundation. This is the seventh annual Charity Giveback Social and represents the coming together of our EPI network to do good for the community and leave Scottsdale better than we arrived. Attendees will enjoy appetizers, drinks, and live music.
Tuesday, May 23
Day three of the Summit includes our highly rated Power Sessions, four more Breakout Sessions, Case Study Group Work, and a Main Stage Session from Michael Kitces!
Power Sessions take the format of brief and focused presentations, similar in style to a TED Talk, providing actionable education and insight with the goal of continuing to advance and grow the exit planning discipline into a more transformational and valuable experience for business owners and entrepreneurs. Our goal is to provide thought-provoking, inspiring, and motivational experiences that transform the way we think. In keeping with the theme of this year’s Summit, the Power Sessions will focus on E-P-I, experiences, people, and innovation – three elements we feel are foundational for success in the exit planning space.
The final full day of the Summit concludes with the Summit After Party Social. Enjoy some hor devours, drinks, and live music as we celebrate another incredible Summit!

This year we are excited to host the first Women in Exit Planning Symposium after the Summit! We aim to bring together women in the exit planning community from all different advisor specialties. Join our panel of experts as they share best practices, discuss the unique challenges facing women in the exit planning profession, and how to build value in your business.
During this one-day event, participants will attend interactive, action-oriented workshops with national experts and leading practitioners on topics such as building your advisory team, communicating your value and closing dream clients, and more!
Symposium attendees will leave with new connections from across the advisory community, gain skills and resources, and learn fresh insight and perspective. Join us for an inspiring and motivating day of content and connection!
